DOT random testing enrollment is an ongoing part of running a covered trucking operation. YourDOTNeeds through Professionally Yours LLC helps owner-operators and small fleets work through consortium enrollment and testing arrangements.
What is a DOT consortium?
A consortium combines covered drivers from multiple employers into a random testing pool. A consortium/third-party administrator (C/TPA) manages agreed parts of the testing program. Covered owner-operators must participate in a consortium random pool. See FMCSA owner-operator guidance.
Start with your operation
- Tell us your business name, USDOT number, and number of covered CDL drivers.
- Let us know whether you are starting a business, renewing, or changing providers.
- Confirm the administering provider, program services, collection arrangements, and enrollment terms before joining.
- Keep written enrollment confirmation and respond promptly to testing notices.
Testing prices
- Standard DOT drug test: $79.
- Standard breath alcohol test: $65.
Contact us for consortium enrollment pricing and a written explanation of what is included. Confirm collection availability and any additional charges before booking.
Do all truck drivers need a consortium?
FMCSA drug and alcohol testing rules generally apply to drivers operating commercial vehicles that require a CDL. A USDOT number alone does not establish that a driver is covered. If you are leased to another carrier, confirm which carrier’s testing program covers you.
Is consortium enrollment the same as Clearinghouse registration?
No. The testing pool and the federal Clearinghouse have different purposes. Owner-operators must designate a C/TPA in the Clearinghouse. Visit our Clearinghouse assistance page to discuss registration and query requirements.
Switching providers?
Coordinate the start and end dates of coverage, arrange the required records, and obtain confirmation of replacement enrollment before ending your existing program.
